LION vs HUMAN

HUMAN LOGIC - Lions are animals and humans are animals so If lion can eat meat so can i !!!  

Here comes the truth, lions eat meat because they're obligate carnivores meaning they have to eat meat to survive. But we don't have that excuse because we don't have to eat meat to survive. 

Moreover, why would we base our morality on the actions of Wild animals ! How can we compare Human morality with Wild animal morality ? 

Lions eat meat and they also kill each other but that doesn't mean we can also kill each other.

Imagine if a human murdered another human and in his defence he says, Lions kill other lions and lions are animal & i am an animal so if lion can kill another lion, so can i !   Everyone will say this is insane and illogical ... What kind of logic is this ??

Why would that be illogical ? Because lion can't be our Role model. We can't compare any wild animal with social animal i.e. human. We are social animal we live in a "civilized society". If we will take inspiration from wild animals then we won't be able to live in a civilized manner.

Other important thing is Physical differences. We can't compare lion body with human body.                                                       

We all know lion tongue is as rough as sandpaper. Lions tongue is covered in tiny spines (Papillae). They use their sharp tongue to lick fur off their prey and to scrape meat from bones.                                             There are also other visible and well known differences like teeth. Lions have canines, We are not blessed with canines.

Humans can't eat raw meat. We face digestion problem even in a well cooked meat. A lion  don't have such issues. A lion's intestine is 5 feet long which make it easy to pass meat through a lion quickly. The human intestine is about 20 feet long that's why it's hard to get meat through human digestive system. Some meat stuck in small pockets for a longtime which causes diseases.    

Somewhere at some point everyone knows that they shouldn't use lion as an excuse to eat meat but they don't want to accept it because it can become a reason for anyone to stop eating meat and they don't want that to happen. We want everything .  But we have to understand that we can't have everything we want. There is nothing in the Universe which can fulfill human greed.

Link Between Animal Exploitation & Zoonotic Outbreaks

Covid-19 is neither First nor Last. Most if not all the recent outbreaks are zoonotic in origin. The question is WHY & HOW ? The main cause of infectious zoonotic diseases is our growing proximity to animals due to Habitat Destruction & Animal Consumption. We are destroying forests for several reasons but one of main reasons is factory farming and animal agriculture. Globally farmers are cutting and burning forest to grow food for animals in slaughter houses. The main cause of deforestation of Amazon rainforest is cattle rearing and soyabean production to feed livestock leading to habitat destruction. Resulting in increase contact between Humans, Livestock and Wildlife which exposes us to animal pathogens. According to WHO report, Increased demand for animal protien is one of the main risk factors of zoonotic disease emergence. 

HIV transmitted from Chimpanzees. The link between HIV and animal exploitation is clear as transmission must occur through infected blood or body fluids. This points to Hunting, Butchering & Consumption of these animals.

As we can see many other cases: COVID-19 originated from Wet-markets, 1918 flu pandemic by H1N1 virus, vCJD by consuming BSE infected meat, Bird flu or Avian influenza by domestic Poultry, Nipah & Hendra virus from infected bats to horses and Also from unprotected contact to pigs, SAR via bats, Swine flue from pigs, Ebola via consumption of bushmeat ETC... 

SO in order to Reduce or Mitigate the Zoonotic outbreaks, we have to stop Animal exlpoitation which inturn is the main reason of habitat destruction and Human-Wildlife contact leading to infectious zoonotic diseases.Animal exploitation not only affects animal life but also human life. Everything is interconnected on Earth. If we continue to exploite other non-human species...It will continue to fireback.
